Description
Garden Of Hedon is a New England rock band built on soulful vocals, blues-soaked guitars, psychedelic textures, and timeless songwriting. Rooted in the spirit of classic rock but driven by a modern approach to songwriting, arranging, and production, the band delivers music that is raw, melodic, dynamic, and unmistakably their own — familiar enough to feel timeless, but never trapped in the past.
About
Garden Of Hedon emerged from singer-songwriter Matt Zajac’s 2020 solo project and officially formed as a band in 2021. Since then, the New England-based outfit has developed a distinctive blend of soulful vocals, blues-soaked guitars, psychedelic textures, and classic songwriting, combining the spirit of rock’s greatest eras with a modern approach to songwriting, arranging, and production.
The band released their debut album, Forbidden Fruit, in 2025, earning praise from outlets including Classic Rock and LouderSound, who described Garden Of Hedon as evoking “the weirder end of the Beatles.” The album features guest appearances from former Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford and Earthless guitarist Isaiah Mitchell, while the band’s live releases have included Live at Arlene’s Grocery NYC.
Garden Of Hedon has continued to build momentum throughout New England and beyond, earning the 2025 Raydio Music Award for Best Original Band, a New England Music Award nomination for Rising Star: Massachusetts, and a finalist finish in the New England Music Awards’ Last Band Standing competition. Their live resume includes performances at Boston’s Hard Rock Cafe and Middle East, New York City’s Arlene’s Grocery and Sidewalk Cafe, and appearances alongside national acts including Steepwater Band, ’80s rock veterans Enuff Z’Nuff, and Marc Ford.
The band’s latest release, “Livin’ Ain’t Easy,” represents a new step forward in both songwriting and production. Featuring Marc Ford on lead guitar and recorded with acclaimed engineer Benny Grotto at Mad Oak Studios, the single showcases a more expansive and deliberate side of Garden Of Hedon while retaining the soulful, guitar-driven character that defines the band.
